The Kogi State chapter of the City Boy Movement (CBM) has secured critical institutional backing from legal, media, and political sectors following a high-powered State Executive Dinner held at the Edge Drive Hotel on Sunday.
Originally conceived as a closed-door strategy session for state executives and local government coordinators, the gathering expanded into a broad-based consultative forum as representatives from the government, private sector, and civil society arrived to pledge their support ahead of the Movement’s formal inauguration.
The legal community, led by Barr. Kemi Usman Omeiza, Chairperson of FIDA, announced the formal alignment of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) alongside the entire legal structure in Kogi State, with the Movement's activities.
This was supported by an endorsement from the State Deputy Director, Barr Ladi Ahmed Jatto, delivered via the Senior Special Assistant on the Informal Sector, confirming that the Kogi informal workforce is ready to integrate into the Movement’s upcoming programs.
In a move to strengthen the group’s public reach, the Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Kogi State on Digital Media, Hon. Lashek, is committed to deploying strategic media channels in support of CBM’s communication goals.
Political momentum surged as the APC State Youth Leader promised a total mobilization of the party’s youth base in Kogi State, framing the Movement as a pivotal force for future electoral success. This alignment is central to the Movement’s broader national mandate of mobilizing 10 million voters, a strategic target designed to consolidate a dominant grassroots footprint and ensure a landslide victory in the upcoming polls.
The State Women Leader, added a powerful grassroots dimension to the endorsements, formally pledging the unalloyed support of Kogi women to the Movement's agenda. She emphasized that their existing, robust structures across the 21 Local Government Areas are fully activated and ready to mobilize, ensuring that the Movement’s reach extends into every household in the state.
During the speech, State Director Hon. Mark Ogah Okpanachi urged members to maintain high levels of discipline as the organization transitions into its next phase. He noted that the current level of commitment from grassroots coordinators would define the Movement’s influence and the opportunities available to its members in the long term.
He further asserted that the City Boy Movement is the originally recognized mobilization platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Emphasizing the Movement's strategic importance, he noted that it is a distinct privilege to be a member of such an elite structure, which sits at the forefront of the party's grassroots and institutional power.
The event concluded with a clear signal of political alignment, positioning the City Boy Movement as a central institutional player in Kogi State's public space as it prepares for its official launch.
