City Boy Movement Holds Empowerment Programme in Kogi, Reaffirms Support for Tinubu

The City Boy Movement (CBM) has carried out an empowerment programme in Kogi State, distributing wheelchairs, grinding machines, sewing machines, and other essential items to residents.

The event, held at the Party Secretariat in Lokoja on Saturday, April 18, 2026, was organized by the Office of the Director, Contact and Mobilization, North Central Zone, led by Hajia Ramatu Ibrahim.

Speaking at the programme, the National Coordinator of CBM, Hon. Favour Abayomi, said the initiative was part of efforts to promote the renewed hope agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu across the country.

“This empowerment programme is just the beginning,” Abayomi stated, adding that more initiatives would follow.

In her remarks, the Director of Contact and Mobilization North Central, City Boy Movement, Hajia Ramatu Ibrahim described the programme as part of a broader strategy to strengthen grassroots development and showcase the capacity of the people.

“What you are witnessing today is not charity,” she said. “It is a reflection of a deliberate plan to empower citizens at the grassroots, in line with the leadership vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

She assured beneficiaries of the group’s continued commitment to improving livelihoods across the North Central zone.

Also speaking, the Northwest Zonal Youth Coordinator of CBM, Hon. Abdullaziz Abba Hassan, alongside the North Central Zonal Coordinator, Hon. Sulieman Magaji, reaffirmed the movement’s dedication to ensuring that citizens feel the impact of good governance.

In a message to the occasion, the Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to the Kogi State Governor, Hon. Kashim Usman Ododo, represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture, Hon. Mu'azu Salihu, commended the City Boy Movement for the initiative.

He described the assignment of the movement in Kogi State as straightforward, noting that the state is led by Ahmed Usman Ododo, whom he characterized as a hardworking leader committed to delivering dividends of democracy and improving the welfare of citizens. 

Hon. Ododo added that such empowerment programmes would further strengthen support for the ruling party and deepen its grassroots presence ahead of future elections.

The State Director of the movement, Hon. Mark Okpanchi Ogah, noted that the group remains united in its mission to empower youths and mobilize support for President Tinubu and Governor Ododo ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“I want to let everybody know that City Boy is calm and calculated and we are together. It is one platform,” he said, while also appreciating “my sister, my woman, Hajia Ramatu Ibrahim, the North Central Director for Contact and Mobilization” for her leadership and contributions.

Goodwill messages were delivered by the representative of the Kogi State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Aliyu Ezzu-Momoh, as well as the National Coordinator of the Door to Door Movement for Tinubu, among other stakeholders.

The event attracted stakeholders and beneficiaries from across the state, many of whom expressed appreciation for the initiative.
